Kayla Wright joins WSIC Radio Station as Winter Intern
Set to Help Station in Social Media Endeavors
Statesville, N.C. (Nov. 30, 2020) – WSIC announced November 23, 2020, that they would be bringing on Kayla Wright as an intern for the winter months. Kayla is a junior at Clemson University studying Communication and Psychology. As a Communication major, Kayla provides valuable information to the station in regard to modern ways of communicating and understanding new technology. Kayla will be working with WSIC in many facets but will be focusing primarily on public relations, writing, promotional support, and customer service.
Social Media knowledge is another contribution that Kayla will be making to the station. As social media chair of Clemson’s Association of Women in Sports Media chapter and an avid user of social media herself, Kayla will be able to help run and organize the platforms that WSIC uses to promote themselves to listeners.
No stranger to the spotlight, Kayla is also familiar with public speaking. Kayla served as Miss Statesville’s Outstanding Teen in 2017 where she promoted her own community service project around Iredell County, speaking at schools and other events across the state. With public speaking being a critical part of Kayla’s past and future, she will provide a fresh voice to our listeners through promotions and on-air appearances.
Born and raised in Statesville, North Carolina, Kayla is very familiar with the community and loves the citizens within it. Kayla hopes to be able to connect even more with the community through her work at the station and be a part of a team that helps provide their listeners with entertaining shows and important news.
We are excited to have Kayla on our team and look forward to the positive contributions she will make to the radio station.
