Wounded warriors and disabled veterans got a free day of fishing on Lake Norman yesterday.

Jim Kiger is one of the organizers for the Operation Old North State “Top Shelf” – Fishin’ Festival and says other than the weather, it was a great day for the nearly seventy individuals who took part.
Help from local restaurants and the Knights of Columbus Council at St. Therese Catholic Church made it possible.
Operation North State offers different military support services including North Carolina themed Christmas care packages.
