Troutman Police: Suspect moved camera before theft

PRESS RELEASE

ON 08/08/2015, TROUTMAN POLICE RECEIVED INFORMATION ABOUT BREAKING AND ENTERING OF MOTOR VEHICLES & LARCENY LOCATED AT AFFORDABLE AUTO GROUP LOCATED @ 235 S. EASTWAY DR. ACCORDING TO THE OWNER, KOSMAS VAVOULIS HE NOTICED 1 OF HIS SECURITY CAMERAS WAS MOVED. HE REVIEWED THE SECURITY FOOTAGE AND OBSERVED A W/M, NOW KNOWN AS ANTHONY DAVID WHITE OF TROUTMAN, ENTERS THE AUTO LOT ON FOOT AND LOOKS AROUND AT DIFFERENT VEHICLES. HE THEN WALKS TOWARDS 1 SECURITY CAMERA AND MOVES IT. HE THEN ENTERS 4 VEHICLES AND REMOVES A BATTERY TESTER FROM 1 OF THE VEHICLES.

ON 08/13/2015, TROUTMAN INVESTIGATORS OBSERVED THE SUSPECT VEHICLE FROM THE VIDEO AND CONFRONTED THE SUSPECT. HE CONFESSED AND THE STOLEN PROPERTY WAS RECOVERED. SUSPECT WAS CHARGED AND RELEASED AFTER FELONY PROCESSING.
