STATESVILLE, N.C. (WSIC) – The Trinity Volunteer Fire Department moved into its new fire station Monday.
The department moved its trucks to the new facility Monday night.
“Feels great. It’s (an) exciting time,” says Chief Shannon Goodman. “(We’ve) been talking about this come to fruition for about four years now, and they’ve (been) working on the building for about two years and we are ready to move in.”
According to Goodman, the approximately $4 million, 26,000 square-foot building more than doubles their space. It’s located across the street from the old station and includes facilities for training, the Sheriff’s Office, and EMS.
A community open house will be held this fall.
