Students earn NASCAR Tech scholarship money

Students from the Iredell-Statesville Schools Career Academy & Technical School recently competed in the NASCAR Tech Scholarship Testing program held on the campus of the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville.  High schools seniors from 15 schools representing several states participated in the contest.  Garrett Dean (Statesville High), Gabe Tulbert (North Iredell High), Scott Burr (North Iredell High), and Andrew Johnston (Lake Norman High) represented CATS.

The Dean/Tulbert team helped CATS earn second place in the southeast region overall team competition.  The two also placed in the top 10 in the individual competition, earning them prizes and a $500 scholarship to the NASCAR Technical Institute.  Dean finished second, and Tulbert finished ninth.
