Statesville PD seeks two in shooting investigation

Statesville NC: On Monday afternoon, April 24, 2017, just before 5PM, Statesville Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 300 block of Brevard St.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Iredell County EMS arrived to treat the victim. EMS then transported the victim directly to Baptist Hospital for further treatment.

SPD Investigators also responded to the scene to investigate the shooting. One SPD Investigator rode with the victim to Baptist in order to gather further details from the victim. Other Investigators processed the crime scene in front of the residence as well as inside the victim’s home. The victim reported that the two suspects, who were known to the victim, attempted to rob him, a struggle ensued, and the victim was ultimately shot. The victim’s name has not been released at this time.

As a result of the investigation, Warrants have been obtained for 2 suspects in this case. Warrants for Assault W/ Deadly Weapon W/ Intent to Kill Inflicting serious injury, and attempted Armed Robbery were obtained for:

Jiceri Sankwan Tucker, B/M, 20, of Statesville NC

Tykeydris Markee Latwan Norris, B/M, 18, of Statesville NC

The suspects have not been arrested as of the time of this release.
