Statesville man accused in Hickory homicide makes first court appearance

A Statesville man connected to a shooting death in Hickory made his first appearance in Catawba County District Court on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.

Bradley Dwayne Davis, 41, appeared before Judge David W. Aycock on a murder charge. The defendant was assigned an attorney and given a probable cause hearing date of July 11, 2017. No bond was set in the case.

The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Davis is accused of killing Shamar Rashad Wilson in a shooting that occurred near Alessio’s Lounge early Saturday, June 17. He turned himself in at Hickory Police Department on Monday.

The case remains under investigation by Hickory Police Department.
