STATESVILLE, NC (WSIC) – Firefighters arrived to a vacant home near Statesville High School Friday afternoon to find heavy fire and smoke showing from the second story roof and windows.
The North Center Street fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes. There were no injuries. Statesville Fire Chief Spencer Lee credits his organization’s control time to a quick response and a strong partnership with the Troutman Fire Department. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Traffic was being blocked on North Center Street and First Avenue. Drivers were urged to avoid the area. Iredell County EMS and the Iredell County Air Van also provided assistance.
