Statesville escapes major problems from continued rainfall


Statesville has seen more than 3.5 inches of rain in the last two days according to US Geological Survey data.

That’s slightly higher than amounts measured in Mooresville and Cornelius, but not as much as some locations to the east like parts of Greensboro and Burlington. 

As of yesterday evening, the Statesville Police Department was reporting no major problems from the weather.

Other areas saw significantly more rainwater accumulation.  The video below shows the flooding of the Yadkin River at the Davie-Forsyth County line.
