Councilmen Williams and West voted no. Doctor Chip Cooney owns the neighboring Animal Hospital of Statesville and presented concerns relating to noise, vibration and odor.

(AUDIO: I feel that if this plan is taken as is that it will have a serious and detrimental effect on our practice).

James Money with Brookdale Senior Living was concerned about noise affecting their site as well.

Attorneys against the truck stop seemed to be pushing for a smaller layout, but Love’s argued that the City gave all indications the property was ready to go.

(AUDIO: When a company considers coming to your city to do business, they have to have some certainty of what to expect when they get into the process. And if they do their investigation, they are entitled to rely on that certainty.).

Attorney Cliff Homesley for Love’s.

The site plan is contingent on previously agreed to road improvements by Love’s. The decision is not official until in writing. Sources say there is the possibility for an appeal.
