Staff Members Bring Smiles to Students with Community Parade

Being a part of the Woodland Heights Elementary School family is more than just being a Hawk. It’s about caring for one another—caring for their family. The staff members at Woodland Heights Elementary School are showing just how they are living out their mission even when students are not inside the school building.

During what could be considered a frightening time for elementary students across the state, staff members have organized a parade where they will drive through the neighborhoods around the school to say hello and bring a smile to each of their students’ faces.

“Even in the time of a health crisis, our staff is thinking about our students,” explained Kristie Spenner, principal at Woodland Heights Elementary School. “We love our students and miss them so much. We want to bring a little joy into their life during such a challenging time. I am so proud of our amazing Hawk family!” Spenner added.

The event will begin at noon in the Woodland Heights Elementary School parking lot located at 288 Forest Lake Boulevard in Mooresville, NC. Staff members will get together and leave from the school at 1:00 p.m. to begin their routes throughout the neighborhoods.
