IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (WSIC NEWS) – Homes were evacuated in North Iredell Tuesday after a propane truck flipped-over on Trumpet Branch Road.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. Jody Smyer with Iredell County says homes were evacuated in a quarter-mile radius as a precaution.

The truck had a small leak of propane as a result of the crash. Crews ultimately had to attach what amounts to a giant torch and burn of the contents inside.

The driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital with injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
