Sheriff’s Office looking for man accused of larceny




Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that on August 16th 2016 a victim reported a larceny of landscaping equipment that was stolen from a landscape trailer in front of the victims home on Hidden Harbor Rd in Mooresville. The victim also reported damages done to a vehicle that was parked behind his landscape trailer on the side of the roadway. Detectives were able to get some of the equipment serial numbers from a local business the victim purchased the equipment from and had the equipment entered into a nationwide database as stolen. Detectives were able to find Christopher Franklin Russell had pawned the stolen items at a local pawn shop in Mooresville after the items were stolen.

After looking more into the case Detectives were able to find that Russell had relatives that lived only a few houses from the victim’s residence. Russell has been charged with Felony Larceny, Injury to Personal Property, and Obtaining Property by False Pretense. The last known address for Russell is 8298 Brim Ln in Denver, NC. Russell had other charges and is currently entered as an absconder from his parole in Buncombe County NC.
