Lincolnton, NC – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the Marine Toys for Tots program in Lincoln County to identify needy children this holiday season.
Sheriff’s Office 1st Sgt. Richard Calhoun is working with local Marine Corp representatives to bridge the gap between the underprivileged children in our county and the abundance of toys that the Toys for Tots program has collected.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies will be checking during their daily tour of duty to identify situations where children are caught in the middle of a difficult circumstance at home. 1st Sgt. Calhoun said, “I’m asking each of our officers to provide information so that we can try to brighten the Christmas season for the children.”
A Toys for Tots referral form has been developed for children up to 14 years of age. However, if a sibling is 15 or 16 years old they can receive gifts as well. The child must also be a resident of Lincoln County. Deputies will be using the form to help identify underprivileged children in our community. The form must be received no later than Friday, November 20, 2020.
It is also an opportunity for the public to help in this very worthy cause. Any resident who knows of an underprivileged child this Christmas season can pick up a referral form at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 700 John Howell Memorial Drive, Lincolnton, NC. You can also email email@example.com and he will send you the form. The form must be returned in person or by email no later than Friday, November 20, 2020.
