Rabies case confirmed near Mooresville

Iredell Animal Services and Iredell Health Department have confirmed another case of rabies. This case involved a raccoon in the area of Landis Hwy in southern Iredell County.

Pets are not protected from rabies until 28 days after their first rabies vaccination.

Rabies vaccinations are available from 10:30am-5:00pm Monday thru Friday and 10:00 am-2:00pm on Saturdays at the Animal Shelter on Bristol Drive for $10 with no appointment necessary. Rabies vaccinations are also available at your veterinarian’s office.

Pets or stray animals with suspected exposure to rabies should be reported to Iredell County Animal Services and Control at (704) 878-5335.
