Rep. McNeely Announces Federal Disaster Funds for Iredell and Neighboring Counties

Raleigh, NC – On March 4, 2021, President Joseph R. Biden Jr. granted a Major Disaster Declaration for the State of North Carolina triggering the release of Federal funds to help communities recover from Tropical Storm Eta that occurred November 12-15, 2020.

“After months of working with Governor Cooper’s, Congressman McHenry’s and Senator Tillis’ offices, we are pleased to announce Iredell County, along with many of our neighboring counties, will be receiving the much needed funds necessary to fully recover from Storm Eta,” said Representative Jeff McNeely.

Hazard mitigation funds will be granted towards recovery in Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Beaufort, Burke, Caldwell, Davidson, Davie, Duplin, Edgecombe, Hertford, Iredell, Robeson, Rowan, Sampson, Stokes, Wilkes, Wilson, and Yadkin Counties.

FEMA has confirmed that there is no overall dollar amount or per-county award associated with this declaration, instead it awards eligibility to apply for specific types of assistance in the counties included in the declaration.
