Police say 3 dead, 1 injured in Hickory domestic homicide



Hickory – On Monday, August 12, 2019 at approximately 9:09 P.M., Hickory Police Officers responded to 366 17th Avenue NE in reference to reports of a female lying in the yard injured as a result of a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers found 32-year-old Roxanne Auton Mitchem, W/F, deceased in the yard. Officers were notified that a second victim; 32-year-old Dorrian Doral Pearson, B/M, had fled from the residence on foot and was located at 330 16th Avenue NE. Pearson was located and suffering from injuries as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported by paramedics to a local hospital and currently being treated for his injuries.

Officers were informed of possible additional victims inside the residence of 366 17th Avenue NE, Apartment B. Officers entered the residence and found a 34-year old-female; Jessica Rose Fowler, W/F, deceased as a result of a gunshot wound and her estranged husband; 37-year-old David Christopher Covington, B/M, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Two small children were inside the home at the time of the incident, but were not injured.
