One stabbed during Statesville home invasion

UPDATE: The 43 year old male victim of the stabbing in this home invasion was transferred, in stable condition to Baptist Hospital for further treatment. The 55 year old female was not injured.

It is still very early in the Investigation, however we do not have enough information to determine if it would be connected at all to the other recent home invasion involving the older gentleman on Stockton St. last week.

The victim’s names cannot be released at the time of this briefing.

Statesville NC: On Tuesday morning May 23, 2017 just before 10:15AM, Statesville Police Officers responded to a reported home invasion that just took place at 945-D Park Dr. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male stabbing victim and a female victim across the street at a neighbor’s residence, where they went to seek help.

During the initial investigation, it was learned that two suspects kicked open the front door of the mobile home, then kicked open the bedroom door of the male victim. A struggle ensued in the bedroom, and the male victim was ultimately stabbed as a result.

The female victim also reported that one of the suspects forced open her bedroom door and dragged her from the bedroom.

Both suspects fled from the scene on foot, from the mobile home park headed east, possibly into a wooded area. The only descriptions available at the time were two black males with dark clothing, hoodies pulled up, and possibly wearing bandanas. One of the suspects was possibly armed with a handgun as well.

The stabbing victim was taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital for treatment. His condition is still unknown, as he is still being evaluated.

CID personnel responded to the scene to conduct a follow up investigation.
