PRESS RELEASE

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on October 24th 2015 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office was contacted due to a runaway juvenile. Deputies learned that Shakilah asked to take out the trash, but she never returned the night she went missing. The responding deputies checked the area, and was unable to locate the victim. After interviewing other people in the home and staff members, it was learned that the victim had planned to run away to be with her boyfriend in the Charlotte area. After speaking to the mother, it was learned that the victim has done this before and was located in Charlotte. Detective J Lowrance was able to obtain information that the victim is possible in the Charlotte area and is asking the help of the citizens in locating Shakilah. If anyone has any information on the location or the where about of the victim is asked to contact Detective J. Lowrance at the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at 704-878-3180.
