Mooresville Police Narcotics Investigation Leads to Arrest

  

After receiving complaints about possible drug sales, narcotic officers from the Mooresville Police Department began an investigation into a resident at 140-5 JC Circle. On May 18, MPD detectives searched the apartment of Markeith Phifer and found two firearms, 54 Alprazolam and 37 Oxycodone pills, and 50 grams of marijuana. Detectives also seized more than $1,500 cash, and unknown narcotic pills were sent to the lab to be analyzed.

Markeith Phifer is a convicted felon, and was charged with two Counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining A Dwelling and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On May 19, Markeith Phifer received a $24,000 secured bond for the above charges. The analyzed pills came back from the lab as more than four grams of Fentanyl, resulting in an additional charge of Trafficking of Heroin/Opium, which was served on June 29.  Phifer was given a new secured bond of $250,000 for the latest charge.
