Mooresville Police investigating two armed robberies

PRESS RELEASE

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – – Just after 8 p.m. on Friday, February 7, the Mooresville Police Department responded to Food Lion, 971 N. Main Street, for a reported armed robbery.

The suspect was described as a black male, 5’10” – 6’0”, and approximately 30 years old. He had a small goatee and was wearing a black jacket with black pants, a black hat and a maroon shirt. The suspect was armed with a black handgun. He took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, but no one was injured during the robbery. Witnesses last saw the suspect walking east toward Pine Street.

Just before midnight, the Mooresville Police Department responded to Walmart, 169 Norman Station Boulevard, for a reported armed robbery.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6’ tall. He was wearing a black jacket, gray shirt, sunglasses, and a blue toboggan with a graying goatee. The suspect displayed a handgun as he approached the cashier and demanded money from the register. He took an undisclosed amount of cash from the cashier and fled the scene on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.

Police have obtained and are reviewing surveillance video from both locations.
