Mocksville woman charged with child abuse

Statesville, NC: On Wednesday, March 18th 2015, a report of child abuse was filed with the Statesville Police Department. The reporting person for the incident was the child’s grandmother. It was reported that, Ashley Nichole Wilson, had assaulted her own 7 year old daughter by kicking her and this assault left a bruise on the child.

Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division were assigned the case. Upon coordinating with the Iredell County Department of Social Services, the case of abuse was substantiated and a warrant was taken out for Wilson’s arrest. Ashley Nichole Wilson, 26 years old of Mocksville, NC was charged with 1 count of misdemeanor child abuse.

After several months of looking for Wilson, she was arrested on May 22nd 2015 by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. Wilson was given a $8,000.00 unsecured bond and released from custody.

Lenoir man accused of larceny from Lowe’s

Statesville NC: On Sunday at 2:45 P.M. Sgt P.W. Ballard and Officer K.N. Austin responded to a reported larceny at Lowe’s. The suspect, Christopher French of Lenoir, had been observed removing a drill and other tools from the store. A Lowe’s employee attempted to stop French but be pushed past ride and fled from the store of foot. Ballard and Austin located French in the parking lot of the Cove Church where he was taken into custody. The stolen property was later located in a dumpster behind Cookout and was returned to Lowes.

French was charged with Larceny and Assault on a Female then taken to the Iredell County Jail where he was held on a $2000.00 secured bond.
