Missing Lincoln man found in Yadkin County

PRESS RELEASE

Lincolnton, NC – A missing Lincoln County man has been located safe in Yadkinville, North Carolina.

Detective Lt. Tim Johnson said, “Yadkinville Police found Mr. Fulton Walton Byrum, Jr. sitting in his vehicle on the side of the road with his vehicle flashers on.”

Mr. Byrum called family members around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and told them he was lost. He had been on his way to a friend’s house on Lake Wylie Road but never showed up.

Detective Johnson said, “Our detectives were able to follow Mr. Byrum around central North Carolina Thursday as he made purchases of gasoline along the way. We were able to send out alerts to Sheriffs and Police Departments close to where his last known location was.”

Family members went to Yadkinville late Thursday to pick up Mr. Byrum.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone for their help in locating Mr. Byrum and getting him safely back home.
