Man arrested for allegedly taking payment, not completing work as agreed

Sheriff Phil Redmond stated: On April 2nd, 2013 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a report in reference to Failing to Complete Work after Being Paid.  The case was assigned to Detective Sergeant Scott Maple of the Economic Crimes Unit to be investigated.  The victim in this case, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that she paid Shawn Kaiser, 41 of Locomotive Lane, Mooresville to install yard lighting at her residence and that he did not do the work as agreed upon.  The victim stated that she had written Mr. Kaiser a personal check on 3/7/2013 and 3/8/2013 and found that they had been cashed on the days they were written.  Upon further investigation, detectives found that the victim paid Mr. Kaiser, $1,050.00 to install the lighting and that she was told that the work would be completed on March 15th, 2013.    Based on the information obtained, detectives were able to charge Mr. Kaiser with Failing to Complete Work after Being Paid.  Mr. Kaiser was arrested on April 11th, 2013 and placed in the Iredell County Jail under a $1,000.00 secured bond and given a future court date.
