Man accused of stealing equipment, wooden pallets from Troutman Lowe’s

PRESS RELEASE

On Sunday August 21, 2016 at approximately 1:10 AM, Troutman Police Officers were conducting routine patrol security checks at Exit 42 in Troutman. During this time, an Officer observed a gold GMC SUV pulling a trailer full of wooden pallets from around the side of Lowes Home Improvement at 1041 Charlotte Highway. The Officer conducted a traffic stop on the suspect and located six wooden pallets, three trimmers, a jet blower, and a dehumidifier. Officers contacted the store management and Lowes sent two representatives to the scene to verify if the items were stolen. It was verified by Lowes. It was then discovered during the walk through of the area around back of the store that the suspect had broken into the appliance trailer and removed the items that were in his possession. During the investigation, Officers then discovered the suspect’s license was suspended along with other traffic violation issues. Officers also located marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The value of the property stolen was $ 1,100.00.

The suspect, Carl Walter Masters Jr of Winston-Salem was charged with: Breaking and Entering (F), Larceny after Breaking and Entering (F), DWLR, Fail to display a registration number plate, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, The defendant was given a $10,000 secured bond and confined in the Iredell County Detention Center
