Consideration of the Love’s truck stop site plan is back before the Statesville City Council tonight.

Council members spent about four hours last week hearing from witnesses put forward by Love’s.  Questions centered around entrances and exits, site layout, traffic impact and one of the buffers.

(I think that bringing jobs to Statesville is very important. But I think you have to look at the big picture, and I’m trying to look at the big picture about how its going to impact the area miles away from that immediate location).

Evelyn Funderburk who lives off Bell Farm Road, she’s concerned about the traffic.  Some residents are concerned about other potential impacts.

Cynthia Nesbit Clark disagrees.

(During our travels, we have stopped at several Loves truck stop’s. They’re clean…they’re well lit).

Tonight, council members will hear from witnesses for those against the truck stop.  That’s expected to include neighboring veterinarian Doctor Charles Cooney.
