STATESVILLE (WSIC) – The reconstruction of a section of Bethlehem Road continues.
A portion was washed away during Tropical Storm Michael leaving a gaping hole in the road. The NCDOT anticipates the road will re-open Friday morning – it’s therefore not expected to have any impact on shuttle buses for the Carolina Balloon Fest happening at the Statesville Regional Airport this weekend. A cost estimate for repair work was not yet available.
Sections of Bristol Road and Houpe Road are also undergoing repairs following washouts from Michael. Both are expected to open Friday afternoon.
