Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office looking for missing man

PRESS RELEASE- The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating an 85 year old man who went missing on Tuesday.

Deputies were dispatched to 5849 Cedar Brook Court, Stanley, NC Tuesday night around 11:00 p.m. after a family member reported that Fulton Walton Byrum, Jr., 85, had gone missing.  Byrum, who is in good health, was enroute to a friend’s house on Lake Wylie Road to play blue grass music but never showed up.

Mr. Byrum called family members around 8:30 p.m. stating that he was lost.  The call pinged off a cell phone tower in the 14000 block of West Shopton Road, Charlotte, NC. CMPD has added vehicle tag number into Tag Reader Hot File to assist in locating vehicle.

Mr. Byrum is described as a white male with gray hair and blue eyes.  He is approximately six feet tall. Family members say he usually wears jeans or work pants, and a tee shirt.   He was operating a 2014 Honda Civic, beige in color, with a North Carolina license plate of CME- 4068.

He has been entered in NCIC as Missing.  Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has filed for a Silver Alert to be issued.
