Jonas Recognized by the National School Public Relations Association

Statesville, NC – Iredell-Statesville Schools is proud to announce that Communication
Specialist Jada Jonas has been named to the National School Public Relations
Association’s fifth class of 35 Under 35. This group of emerging leaders from all over the
United States is proving that strategic communication is timeless, extending easily to our
next generation of school public relations professionals. The program recognizes young
professional members who are making a difference for their school districts.

Ms. Jonas, who is the only North Carolina recipient of the award this year, has served the
Iredell-Statesville Schools for 13 years in the public relations department. “We are so
fortunate to have Jada Jonas as a member of the I-SS team,” stated Superintendent Jeff
James. “She is a consummate professional who works tirelessly to communicate the news
of our school district. Especially in 2020, communication and sharing of information has
been a true challenge. Jada has risen to the challenge, and is a true champion of our
school district.”

“It is a pleasure to see young professionals like Jada Jonas succeeding in school public
relations and communications,” said Todd Hagans, chief communications officer for
Gaston County Schools and the immediate past president of the N.C. School Public
Relations Association. “Jada truly understands why effective communications and public
relations are extremely important to a school district, and her work proves that she excels
in our field. To earn the ‘35 Under 35’ recognition from our national association is an
honor that distinguishes her as among the best in school public relations.”
Jonas holds a BS in Communication with a concentration in Advertising from Appalachian
State University and a Masters of Business Administration in Public Relations from Liberty
University.

All honorees were 35 years old or younger at the time of the Aug. 26, 2020, nomination
deadline. Each honoree will be featured in an issue of the NSPRA This Week (NTW)
