Statesville, N.C. (Jan. 19, 2020) – WSIC announced in December of 2020 that Joe Berg would be joining the radio station as the new host of “Sports Board.” Joe’s first official day of the job was December 8, 2020. He began sharing with our listeners local, regional, and national sports updates.

When it comes to professional sports, Joe’s favorite sport is hockey, so listeners are sure to get an update on the Carolina Hurricanes. Joe is also a big fan of the New York Giants, New York Yankees, New York Rangers, and New York Knicks. With northern roots, Joe will have to get accustomed to our southern teams.

Joe is originally from Jackson, New Jersey but moved to North Carolina at a young age. Joe moved back to Madison, New Jersey for college where he graduated with a degree in Communication and concentration in Multimedia Journalism from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Joe hopes that by working at WSIC he will gain experience in a field that he is very excited about. He is grateful that he has been given the chance to work with WSIC and looks forward to all of the new things he will learn and the following he hopes to gain.

We are excited to have Joe on our team and look forward to the positive contributions he will make to the radio station and the sports news he will provide our listeners.
