A Statesville High School senior is the recipient of the Diana Award.

Named for Princess Diana, the award is presented to young role models who are working to transform the lives of others. Jennifer McClain started the Iredell-Statesville Schools IGNITE Summit, held twice a year focusing on anti-bullying.

District spokeswoman Susie Wiberg says each middle and high school sends a team of students who are then tasked with anti-bullying efforts for their individual campuses.

Other news from Iredell-Statesville Schools, today is the last meeting for this year’s Youth Leadership class. Wiberg leads that program and says students were set to do a downtown scavenger hunt and have lunch with residents at Fifth Street Ministries.
