Iredell-Statesville Schools: Teacher fired following arrest, investigation



Statesville, NC –Genetta Dobbins of Statesville has been arrested by the Statesville Police Department and charged with one count of misdemeanor assault on a child under 12. Dobbins has been employed with the Iredell-Statesville School District since September 9, 2019. She served as a teacher assistant at East Iredell Elementary School.

Dobbins was suspended with pay on Thursday, October 24, 2019 pending an investigation. The suspension was the result of an interaction between Ms. Dobbins and an East Iredell Elementary student during the school day. As of October 25, 2019, Ms. Dobbins is no longer an employee of the school district.
