Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 Detectives with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received information that Mr. Jeffery McDade of Hiddenite was threatening to go and kill a subject who he was previously charged with shooting in April of this year. In that incident McDade showed up at the victim’s residence and shot him several times. Due to the threats that were made and multiple subjects who confirmed that Mr. McDade made the threats and was even seen on the victim’s property, a warrant was obtained for Mr. McDade’s arrest for intimidating a state witness. Mr. McDade was located at his residence on Cheatham Ford Rd where he was taken into custody by Iredell County Deputies with the assistance of Alexander County. Mr. McDade was taken before an Iredell County Magistrate where his bond was given as $500,000.00 dollars secured. Mr. McDade was then placed in the Iredell County Detention Center.
