Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: Because of the current state of COVID-19 virus, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has to conduct on-going narcotics arrests or “round-ups” somewhat differently. Instead of arresting our usually high number of arrestees on one or two days, we have made adjustments to go after lower numbers over a longer period.
By targeting these drug dealers who have actually participated in the sale of narcotics, we have been able to keep the crime rate low and made Iredell County not profitable and unfriendly place for drug dealers.
Sheriff Campbell added, “These people are drug dealers. The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office will remain constant in our efforts to go after drug dealers. If you are addicted to drugs, let us know, and we will assist you in getting the help you want and need to get off these substances, however selling illegal drugs to support a habit cannot be tolerated. There are currently investigations on-going based on information from our community partners and other various sources.”
