Lake Norman State Park Superintendent WIlliam Rhinehart Jr. died this week. Rhinehart worked for the North Carolina Parks Service for 26 years and was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church. The viewing is from 6 to 8 this evening at Monticello United Methodist. The funeral service will be held tomorrow morning.

A motion hearing is set for March 3rd in the Interstate 77 toll lane case. The court will hear motions involving the temporary injunction to stop the I-77 toll lane project. The plaintiff, WidenI-77 believes the interstate should be widened with general purpose lanes in lieu of toll lanes. The case will be heard at the Alamance county courthouse March 3rd at 9 am.

The Charlotte City Council will consider an ordinance Monday that would allow people to use the restroom of their choosing depending on sexual preference. Supporters say it’s about treating everyone equally. Opponents say it endangers women and children.
