I-SS graduation ceremonies still set for Saturday despite weather

PRESS RELEASE

The graduation ceremonies for Lake Norman High School, North Iredell High School, South Iredell High School, Statesville High School and West Iredell High School are planned for 8:30am on Saturday morning, June 8. Currently there is rain in the forecast, but all schools will continue with plans to hold graduation ceremonies on Saturday morning.

All high schools in the Iredell-Statesville Schools will be prepared to host graduation both in their respective high school stadiums, and also inside. A call regarding the location will be made early Saturday morning. Should we be forced to hold ceremonies inside, details regarding limited tickets and taping or live streaming of the ceremonies are being shared out by each individual high school.

District spokesperson Dr. Boen Nutting stated, “While holding graduation ceremonies inside would be a logistical issue for families who wish to bring a large group to graduation, our focus should be primarily to honor our 2019 graduates and make sure they have a great ceremony. This is their day, and we want them to feel special. Pray for sunshine, prepare for rain.”
