Special Message to Members
Chamber Message from Shannon Viera
We are going through an unprecedented disruption together. But we have been tested before in different ways, and always emerged stronger – and I have no doubt this will prove true once again. I’m writing today with some important updates on things that have been announced over the last few days:
Small Business Support
The President announced loans through the Small Business Administration on Thursday evening.
Federal Response
Additionally, Congress acted late last week to pass legislation to support businesses and families affected by the disruption. Here is a great overview by the US Chamber which breaks down what is included.
State Response
Governor Roy Cooper to issue an executive order to expand unemployment benefits and details for restaurants on take out/pick up.
Governor Roy Cooper issued an executive order on to close K-12 public schools statewide.
City Response
At the Monday, March 16 City Council Meeting, Mayor Costi Kutteh declared a state of emergency for the City of Statesville.
Chamber Response
We have created a corona virus resources page with links to local, state and federal agencies along with business resources.
