LAKE NORMAN, N.C. (WSIC NEWS) Eric Trump observed the eighteenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by having lunch with first responders at his family’s Mooresville property.

Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell estimates 230 first responders were at a free luncheon held in the club’s lakeside ballroom.  The remembrance event included remarks from Campbell, Eric Trump, and Lake Norman Volunteer Fire Department Deputy Chief Kevin Clark.  Campbell says he was impressed by the fact Eric Trump could have chosen to remember the tragic day anywhere he wanted, but selected Iredell County.

According to Campbell, Trump took nearly an hour to speak with first responders one-on-one following the event.
