Davidson, NC – On Thursday, May 28, 2015, Davidson Fire Department partnered with Davidson College to conduct an emergency drill on campus. This drill included the participation of other local emergency services agencies in the area. The exercise provided a unique opportunity for all of the participating agencies to work together with Davidson College administrative staff to effectively mitigate an emergency situation on their campus. At the conclusion of the drill, agencies were able to review the outcome in order to further enhance the communications, response and tactical procedures. There were a total of 45 emergency services personnel involved in this drill as well as 20 Davidson College staff.
The Davidson Fire Department would like to thank Davidson College for providing us the opportunity to bring the local emergency services agencies together on their campus. In addition to the college administration, we would also like to thank the many emergency services agencies that came together and worked with us in mitigating this simulated incident. Davidson Fire Chief, Darin McIntosh, stated, “Drills such as this provide us the opportunity to work together with the area emergency services agencies as well as campus staff to ensure a safe and secure Davidson community for all to enjoy.”
