Duo accused of conspiring to kill Mooresville roommate

PRESS RELEASE

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Mooresville Police Department arrested Gamaliel Aguliar Gonzalez, 25, and Fermin Romero Tinajero, 32, on Sunday, November 15 for charges related to the kidnapping, felony assault and conspiracy to commit homicide of their roommate.

On November 15, Mooresville Police Department began investigating the crime after the male victim escaped from the suspects and contacted the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center – Huntersville for injuries and released from the hospital after being treated.

Mooresville Police Department determined the assault and kidnapping started at the victim’s and one of the suspect’s home located at 721 South Academy Street and ended in Mecklenburg County when the victim escaped.

The suspects were later arrested and taken before an Iredell County Magistrate and detained in the Iredell County Jail. Tinajero was placed under a $100,000 secure bond and Gonzalez was placed under an $180,000 secure bond. Also, Gonzalez was served with a Failure to Appear warrant for unrelated charges from Scotland County.
