DAVIDSON, N.C. (WSIC NEWS) – Davidson College says reports of gunfire at the Hurt Hub Wednesday morning are unfounded.
The college issued a statement saying students and faculty may have received an emergency notification via the SSAFER alerting system regarding an active threat on campus. The Davidson College Campus Police Department was called to the campus’ entrepreneurial incubator, the Hurt Hub, Wednesday based on reports of gunfire. Investigators say they found no threat of an active shooter or any other danger. An all-clear was issued shortly after officers arrived.
The investigation is ongoing. Davidson College said in a statement, “the safety and well-being of Davidson students is our highest priority, and we take all reports of threats seriously.”
