If approved by the Charlotte City Council Monday, the Town of Cornelius will become responsible for patrolling Mecklenburg County’s share of Lake Norman.
(AUDIO: The Town of Cornelius will provide routine patrols on the lake three hundred and sixty-five days a year, twenty-four hours a day. A dedicated lake patrol unit will be created.).
That’s the Mecklenburg County Manager at last night’t County Commissioners meeting.
The Town is expected to fund the Lake Patrol at over two hundred thousand annually.
Mecklenburg County will provide more than three-hundred sixty thousand dollars of funding to Cornelius annually for the lake patrol.
