Clemmons man charged following Iredell traffic stop

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on June 15th, 2015 Sgt. Ryan Sherrill with the Iredell County Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team (ACE) stopped a blue Mazda Tribute on Old Mountain Road near Interstate 40 East for a traffic violation.

After a computer check, the driver, Trent Merritt Harmon was found to have a revoked license. Sherrill then spoke with owner of the vehicle who was seated in the rear passenger seat. After further investigation the rear passenger, Brantley Marshall IV admitted to being in possession of Psilocybin mushrooms which are classified as a Schedule I controlled substance in North Carolina.

Harmon was later found to be in possession of a marijuana smoking pipe which was also located in the vehicle. Harmon was issued citations for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Marshall was arrested and taken before an Iredell County Magistrate where he received a $3,000.00 secured bond.
