City of Statesville: Community Appearance Commission Seeking New Members

For more information, contact Nancy Davis at 704-878-3586

The Statesville Community Appearance Commission is seeking interested residents to serve on the Community Appearance Commission.

The Appearance Commission is a nine-member board that initiates, promotes and assists in the community beautification programs for the City.  The commission meets on the third Thursday of each month at 11:45 a.m.  The members oversee the Mayor’s Cup and Community Appearance awards programs and sponsor seasonal events.

All members of the Commission must be residents of the City’s planning and zoning jurisdiction or own a business within this same area.  It is preferred, but not required, that applicants have special training or experience in design, such as architecture, landscape architecture, horticulture, city planning or a closely related field.  The appointments, made by the Mayor, are for three-year terms.

Interested persons can apply by completing a Volunteer Application form, available on line at under Boards & Commissions or by calling 704-878-3583.
