LINCOLNTON, NC (WSIC) – The North Carolina Highway Patrol says a woman killed in a Lincoln County accident Thursday morning was not wearing a seat belt.
Heather Hodge, a 29-year-old Crouse resident, was pronounced dead at the scene on NC 182 near Harmon Road west of Lincolnton. Investigators say her 4-year old son was held by a seat belt but was not in a proper child restraint. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to the Highway Patrol, the vehicle went off the road to the right in a curve, struck a culvert and collided with a tree.
