Armed robbery under investigation at Mooresville grocery store

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Monday, July 16th 2018 at approximately 08:19am a report was made of an armed robbery at 835 Williamson Road in Mooresville at the Food Lion Grocery Store.

A black male entered the store making a purchase at the register. A second black male then entered the store with a firearm and confronted the clerk at the front of the store. Both males then fled the store in a newer dark gray Dodge Challenger. The vehicle fled the parking lot heading North on Williamson Road.

The first suspect is a thin black male around 5’10” to 6’ foot tall wearing white Hollister shorts, a black and gray short sleeved pullover shirt with a hood that displays the word “Brooklyn” on the front in white letters, and a black Carolina Panthers hat.

The second suspect, was armed with a pistol. He is a black male around 5’5” to 5’7” foot tall wearing dark colored pants, a dark shirt, and a dark “Boonie” hat.

A third black male was seen driving the Dodge Challenger wearing all black clothing and remained outside near the car during the robbery.

Detectives were able to get the surveillance footage from the store and found the suspects had been in the store several times prior to the robbery.
