Some 280 people are said to have braved the cold and rain to take a polar plunge into Lake Norman at Trump National Yesterday.

Now in it’s ninth year, the event raises money for SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) and for the Mooresville Soup Kitchen. Gavin Arsenault is the General Manager at Trump National Charlotte and estimates the water temperature was in the 40s.

About $15,000 was raised for the two charities. Participants were rewarded for their jump with a buffet, silent auction and a DJ. Arsenault anticipates a big event next year for the 10th anniversary.
