PRESS RELEASE

Lincolnton, NC – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Silver Alert for a 73 year old western Lincoln County man.

Deputies responded to the 1500 block of George Brown Road around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday reference a missing person. Family members say Troy Marshall Scronce, 73, left the residence going for a ride in his red 1996 dually Dodge truck. He was last seen traveling from George Brown Road in the direction of Crouse Road.

Mr. Scronce was wearing a white polo short sleeve shirt, brown shorts, white in color tennis shoes, and a gold colored watch. Family members made contact with Mr. Scronce around 6:30 p.m. and he told them he was riding around the country looking for Shelby, NC. He reportedly was on Highway 221 in Cleveland County traveling south toward South Carolina. The license plate number of the truck is North Carolina BJ9074.

Mr. Scronce suffers from dementia and is on medication for it. He is described as 6 feet tall and weighs around 275 pounds. He has reddish-brown and gray hair. He has been entered NCIC as a missing person.
