Four children airlifted following Statesville accident

Statesville NC: On Tuesday June 18, 2019 around 12:20pm, Statesville Police Officers responded to the intersection of Garner Bagnal Blvd and Rickert St. in reference to a traffic accident with injuries. A 2002 Buick Rendezvous carrying five small children pulled out into the intersection in front of a 2016 semi-truck. All occupants of the Rendezvous were transported to local area hospitals. Four of the children were airlifted to Baptist Hospital and are listed in critical but stable condition. The driver and other child were treated and released from the hospital. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured. At this time, no one has been charged while the Statesville PD Traffic Units continue their investigation.
