Think you’ve heard it all when it comes to buying and selling? If that’s the case, you obviously have not listened to Home Ad on WSIC. Every weekday from 9-11 a.m., veteran broadcaster Pat Shannon takes to the airwaves to help listeners buy, sell, trade, find, or give away just about anything imaginable. From yard sales to lost dogs, and from appliances to electronics, there is not much you won’t hear on Home Ad. Best of all, it is absolutely free to put an item on-air. Just use the information above to call-in, or e-mail your information to the show. Even traditional snail mail is accepted.

The Home Ad show has been a part of WSIC programming, though the name has changed, since the late 40′s. The Home Ad show evolved from a fifteen-minute afternoon segment to the two-hour talk program it is today. Home Ad is more than just a buy and sell program, though. Pat makes the show entertaining, funny, and uplifting so listeners will love to tune-in regardless of what they might have to put on-air!

Pat was born and raised in Iredell County, and first started working for Statesville Broadcasting in 1960 while at Troutman High School. After graduating from Troutman High School in 1961, and attending Mitchell College for a year, Pat joined the Air Force and was trained as a military broadcaster. With the exception of a year break in service, during which he returned to Statesville and WSIC from 1965-1966, Pat served 23 years of active duty in the Air Force with 16 years overseas in Armed Forces Radio and Television in Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, Germany, Azores, Iran and Guam. While stationed stateside, Pat made training films for the Air Force and handled advertising and publicity for the Air Force Recruiting Service.

Please note that the Home Ad Facebook Page is a uniquely on-line community. Items posted there will not be read on-air.

Now, being semi-retired, Pat enjoys spending time with his wife, Sonja, and his two animal companions Scruffy and Mia. Pat also enjoys time spent on his boat “The Mulligan,” and playing golf. He has two daughters, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. With the exception of trying to retire once, Pat has hosted the Home Ad show (and for a period of time, the morning show as well) since 1986.

Every Tuesday and Thursday Pat gives YOU the opportunity to WIN a Home Ad t-shirt!!!!!

The shirt displays a graphic of Pat Shannon behind the microphone on the front with his favorite phrase, “I’m blessed with the joy of living!” Frequent callers who have their own “Home Ad Handle” are listed on the back.  A certificate of authenticity accompanies each Home Ad t-shirt, verifying that the shirt is indeed genuine. Be sure to tune-in Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a chance to win your own Home Ad T-Shirt! WSIC Contest Rules apply, CLICK HERE TO VIEW CONTEST RULES.

Home Ad is heard every weekday from 9-11 AM on 100.7 FM, 1400 AM, 1520 WDSL, and TV 21.2.

The HOME AD show is for individuals to buy, sell, and trade items of value. If you’d like to advertise your business, please call, 704-872-6345.
